1. Create a Dedicated 85mm Portrait Widget

If you love portrait photography, you don’t need to open the camera app, swipe over to Portrait mode, and select 85mm every single time.

  • How to do it: Pinch the home screen, tap Atomic Components, scroll to Camera, and drag the 85mm Portrait Lens component to your home screen.
  • The Result: One tap on your desktop launches directly into the 200MP APO periscope at 85mm with your preferred ZEISS portrait styles pre-loaded.

2. Double-Tap the Back Glass for Instant Flashlight

Turn the phone’s rear glass into a physical button:

  • Navigate to Settings > Shortcuts & accessibility > Quick action > Back Tap.
  • Set Double Tap to Turn on/off Flashlight or Take Screenshot.
  • Now, tapping twice firmly on the center of the back panel triggers the action instantly, even when wearing light gloves.

3. Resize Folders for Instant App Launching

OriginOS 6 allows you to transform standard folders into interactive widget grids on the 120Hz LTPO display:

  • Long press on any app folder and tap the transform icon.
  • You can expand it into a 2x2 large folder or a 1x2 rectangular strip.
  • Apps inside large folders can be opened with a single tap directly from your home screen without having to expand the folder first.

4. Re-Focus and Adjust Bokeh After Taking the Shot

Every portrait captured in Portrait Mode contains full depth-map metadata:

  • Open any portrait in the native Album app.
  • Tap the Bokeh button at the top right.
  • You can tap anywhere on the image to shift the focus point to a different person, adjust the blur strength slider from f/0.95 to f/16, or switch the lens emulation from Biotar to Sonnar seamlessly.

5. Enable Bypass Charging to Keep the Phone Cold

When gaming in our sustained gaming tests or using the phone as a continuous GPS navigator in your car during summer road trips:

  • Swipe in from the top-left edge of the screen to open the Game Sidebar.
  • Tap Bypass Charging.
  • The power adapter will supply electricity directly to the motherboard, bypassing the 6,510 mAh battery entirely. This prevents heat buildup and protects long-term battery health.

6. Fix Delayed WhatsApp and Messaging Notifications

Because OriginOS is aggressive with background battery management, ensure your important messaging apps stay alive:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Special app access > Auto-start and enable your messaging apps.
  2. Go to Settings > Battery > Background power consumption management and set them to Allow high background power usage.
  3. Open the app switcher (recent tasks) and tap the lock icon on WhatsApp, Telegram, or Slack.
